What will you be financing?

VIBES & BEATS has been a dynamic actor in Portugal's entertainment world. They are now one of the largest national concert producers and manage events in many of the country's main venues.

The funds raised through this campaign are intended to co-finance the preparation and production of the 2nd edition of the "Rock à Moda do Porto" Festival on October 20 and 21 at Super Bock Arena, in Oporto.

This is the promoter's third campaign, after having raised 650,000 euros through Vibes&Beats I, II and III to leverage costs before shows, which were later settled by the ticket sellers (usually 15 days after the events).

After a successful first edition of Rock à Moda do Porto valued by CISION in October 2022 at 1.7M euros, the promoter Vibes &Beats will repeat the two-night festival. A celebration of Oporto's liveliness that features bands such as Pedro Abrunhosa, Clã, Trabalhadores do Comércio, Mão Morta, Jafumega, Taxi, and others to be announced.

During the first half of the year, the promoter produced 14 shows in the country's largest venues:

  • Eros Ramazzotti with 2 dates at Altice Arena,
  • The Waterboys with 3 shows at the Coliseums of Lisbon, Porto, and Casino do Estoril,
  • Barões da Pisadinha with 2 dates at Super Bock Arena and Sagres Campo Pequeno,
  • Brasil Vibes at Altice Arena,
  • North Festival with 3 dates at Alfândega do Porto,
  • DJAVAN with 3 shows at Coliseu de Lisboa and Super Bock Arena.

At the moment there are 11 shows with tickets for sale and the promoter is in the process of negotiating with 2 more shows. The promoter's goals are to create new concepts of events, concerts, and festivals, where music is not the only focus of the public.

What is the impact?

Promotion of cultural economic activity: strengthening trade in cultural goods and services provides stimulation for local and national markets, which in turn provides employment opportunities and promotes local production. This is especially important after the cultural sector suffered serious setbacks by the Covid-19 pandemic in the last two years, and starts now to recover. The financing of Vibes&Beats enables:

  • Maintenance of 7 full-time formal jobs
  • Boost the national cultural industry: partnering with around 80 other national companies for the realization of the events – including marketing, communication, and structures services, encourages the cultural infrastructure.

Promotion of cultural diversity and heritage: the realization of the events promotes and recognizes national artists, cultural production, and heritage, and by bringing international artists to tour it contributes to an appreciation of cultural diversity.

Improvement in environmental responsibilities of events: the event Rock à Moda do Porto produced by Vibes&Beats has begun to value measures to decrease the event’s environmental footprint, such as the exclusive use of reusable cups, in their 1st edition in 2022. However, the organization recognizes a long way to go and commits to more environment-friendly initiatives for the 2nd edition of the event in 2023.
